Althaea officinalis. This charming plant is native to Europe and was brought to North America as a medicinal plant. It has downy soft, grayish- green, velvety leaves. Blooms August to October; 60-120 cm tall with pale pink blossoms 6 cm across. It can make a lovey herbal hedge. We alwats look forward to its spring emergence.
