Brassica oleracea acephala Also known as Lacinato or Cavolo Nero. This Italian variety dates back to the 18th century. Tender and delicious. Narrow bumpy dark green leaves. Mulch well for early greens in the second year. We have eaten this kale right up until the end of December straight from the garden. Freezes well too. Full of iron.
