Blue Vervain

Verbena hastata

Tall blue candelabra like flowers on 90-150 cm high. Combine well with Bergamots, Milkweeds, and grasses. Cold, moist stratification recommended. Mix seed with moist but not wet, sterile growing medium. Place mixture in a labeled, sealed plastic bag and store in refrigerator for six to eight weeks.  If sprouting occurs, plant immediately. Another method is to sow seed outdoors in late autumn so that they may overwinter. Cold hardy perennial. Germination 21-28 days. Light well drained evenly moist soil and full sun to light shade. Approximately 100 seeds.     Zone 3-8
TIP:Plant anytime in a cool moist spot. Well worth the wait for this beautiful plant. Loved by pollinators.
