Indian grass is one of our most ornamental native grasses, admired for its golden seed heads, nice fall coloration and sturdy, upright growth habit. Indian Grass foliage is used as a larval food by butterflies. Wild turkey and prairie birds eat its seeds and use its foliage for cover. Beautiful red colour in fall. Sow seed at a depth of twice the diameter of the seed. This is a warm weather grass so it will germinate once the soil reaches it’s desired temperature if direct sown outside. Zone 4-8. Approx. 50 seeds.
